Why can't stuff just work?
Can anyone help me with CD DVD questions? How can I pick a burner and soft ware that will just work the way it's suppose to? It seems no matter what player or media I use the media may or may not play in the next player I put it in. I mostly use Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media and I have used a number of burners (currently a Toshiba SH-S203) but always the same outcome, sometimes the media will play and sometimes it won't. I mostly use Nero version 9 software.
Is there a good tech site that deals with these problems? Thanks for any help. |

I have found that when it comes to software, newer is not always better. I have yet to have any issues with Lite-On burners and Nero 6.6. I use Verbatim DVD+R's.

I agree with GLC on the choice of LiteOn burners. They make a range of models with an interchangeable face plate from black to beige in both retail and OEM.
With the interchangeable face plate it means I can keep half a dozen on the shelf and regardless of what machine I get in for repair I can usually accomodate it. The burner comes with an OEM version of Nero and Power DVD. I have one fitted in each one of my machines, my wife has come home with some weird and wonderfull makes of CD's and DVD's and I have never made a coaster with one of them.
