ATTN Drisley: Can I match my new member account up with old forum account?

I am now a paid member, obviously, of pcmech. My old forum account was not available to be used as my paid member account. I am not sure why but it was not available. Is it possible to have my old forum account = my new member account?

my forum login was roaming_builder and my member login is roaming_free

Just a thought...

I can merge the 2 forum accounts, but I can only go forward - I can incorporate all your old posts into the "roaming_free" account, but not vice versa. If you want to be "roaming_builder" Drisley will have to do that.

I would prefer to be roaming_builder, since that has been my screen name this entire time, but whatever would be easiest for you would be fine with me. I do not want to cause a hassle and I doubt that anyone would remember me as roaming_builder anyway.

Thanks a bunch.

Thanks a bunch. I can still access the other account, so it is not time sensitive. I am sure you guys have a hand full already.

I love this site.

This is where I learned to build my first computer and how to set up my first network. Many years and computers/networks later I still come here for computer info and help.

Second to none... I just wish I could get more involved, you know?

Or maybe he will want to do some work while on vacation (not) since he took his notebook with him. From his Twitter page: "Is it weird that I took my MacBook Pro on vacation with me? :-) Will use it a few times to check in from the cruise ship."

When I go on vacation I try to leave my notebook at home but somehow it always ends up coming along. Addicted to information gatheration I guess. (gatheration- my word...I own it)

He won't be doing much - if anything - the cruise ships charge something insane like $2.49 a minute for an Internet connection.

We just returned from Cancun a couple of weeks ago and it was $25 per day for internet access at the hotel. Even that is crazy to me...I'm use to getting it for free when I'm staying at hotels.

glc,

I just paid for a membership yesterday and ran into the same situation. Not to be a pain, but I would prefer to have my original forum name briley, too. Would that be a problem?

I was paying 40 cents per minute because I purchased a block of time at once. Still expensive, tho.

You're taken care of. Your username on both sides of the site is now roaming_builder.

Thanks, Dris!

For in the future, can I do this in the admin CP or do you have to do it in the back end? Let me know via PM or email, please. I'm thinking if I do a backwards merge, it will break the link to aMember.
