I have a HP laserjet 3330 that suddenly the scanner started hanging up and won't complete the job. I am certain its a software or driver issue so I want to uninstall and reinstall the software. When I try to use the uninstall tool I get a screen that say can't open a 16 bit program so I can't use the normal options. The computer is home built running MCE XP 2005, service pack 3. What happens if I just delete the entire folder. The program for this isn't listed in the add/remove list of installed programs but is listed in the programs shown when I click on start. Any suggestions? The printer functions sometimes start printing askie (sp?) or garbage. Its a great machine and has been super until recently. I have no idea what I did but obviously something.

Before uninstalling it, try replacing the cable. A bad printer cable will give you those symptoms.
If you still need to uninstall, please look at this thread on the HP forums: http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/...readId=1231671 |

Good suggestion. The printer was on a hub. connecting directly to the computer solved the hanging up problem. But now how do I get this off the computer? The link you gave me was good but still required using the add/remove in the control panel which is not available. It seems that somehow a 16 bit version of the program is installed and windows doesn't recognize it there. I tried running the uninstaller in different modes of compatibility to no avail. So now I'm wondering if deleting the program and doing a delete in regedit for all the entries I can find for the laserjet 3330 i can find. what bothers me is the app linking to all of the other programs that the program does. Ideas? Thanks for the help!

Download this free app and use it: http://www.revouninstaller.com. I've been using it for almost a year now vice add/remove programs in the control panel.
