Remote Speakers
I want to send my PC music to a set of remote speakers and I can hard wire them. What, exactly must I do at the PC to do this? Must it be connected to a Receiver? Must I get a special sound card? Thanks

If they are not AC-powered speakers, you will need an amplifier of some sort. You would run a cable from the sound card or onboard sound line-out to the line-in jacks on the amplifier.

That cable is only to make it safe to connect the SPEAKER output of the sound card to a stereo line-in. Not necessary when connecting the line-out to the line-in.
