is there a reason for going into safe mode and also do you always go to safe mode when u are scanning for a virus or spyware etc?

Running Mbam in Safe mode (with networking so you can update it) prevents some of the nasties from running in normal startup. Some folks prefer to run all Anti-products in Safe mode but others of us only do it with Mbam, then reboot and run the latest version of Spybot-Search and Destroy and another scan with your Anti virus (I use AVG Free v. 8.5).

First you can try a system restore, if that doesn't work, you can download the dll file you need from here and place it in the system32 folder. http://www.dll-files.com/
