Mobo/memory compatibility

I am looking to get an ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO mobo with G.Skill 4 gb (2x2), but i have heard that this mobo isnt compatible with ddr2. Is this true? ddr3 is not really in my budget, and i dont really need it for my build.

IF you look up the specs of the mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...SUS-_-13131407

You see:
CPU Type Intel New-Gen Core i7 / Core i5

Number of Memory Slots 4×240pin
Memory Standard DDR3 2200(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066
Maximum Memory Supported 16GB

When it doesn't list DDR2 that means - no can do..
Also since it only takes the newest/most expensive cpu's - you'd want the faster DDR3 ram.

Go to the Asus site and download the QVL for the motherboard. All tested compatible ram will be listed.

DDR3 is now about the same price as DDR2, by the way.
