Proposed new build - any thoughts?

I am looking to upgrade my current PC. This is what I currently have:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Maxtor 6L300SO
NVidia GeForce 8800 GT
Creative Soundblaster Live! 24 Bit
MS-7100

(Excuse any errors, I am just learning this stuff)

I looked to see if I could upgrade the processor since that seems to be the weak link here, but the motherboard can't take a Dual Core chip, so it looks like I'm going to have to change the lot.

What I am thinking of putting together is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 (4 x 2.83 GHZ) 1333FSB - 12 MB
Asus P5N72-T PREMIUM 1333 FSB (NVIDIA 780i)
8GB PC-6400 800 MHZ (4 x 2 GB) (DDR2)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 - 1 GB - 2xDVI/VGA (Asus)
Speeze QuadroFlow VIII - Low Noise
1 TB (1000 GB) SATA-II HDD UDMA 300 7200 32MB
250 GB SATA-II HDD UDMA 300 7200 8MB
ASUS (DRW-2014L1T) DVD /- RW 22x - Black - Lightscribe (SATA)
Creative X-FI Xtreme Gamer 7.1 (PCI)
Cooler Master Centurion 590
OCZ 600W Stealth XStream - Low Noise
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 BIT

I'm looking for this PC to be good for around 4 years, so any feedback would be much appreciated.

Replace that motherboard with an Asus P5Q Pro Turbo and use the stock retail processor heatsink/fan and you are good to go. Also, try the onboard sound before you buy a soundcard.

What brands and models are those hard drives you are looking at?

However, if you are looking for something that will more likely accept upgrades later, I'd look at an i5-750 or i7-860 on an Asus P7P55D board and DDR3-1333 ram instead.
