Just watched it...seems okay, not great. I'll watch a few more episodes, though.

I totally forgot it was even on. One of the other channels (think it was Syfy) was showing a bunch of the old series episodes the night before. Watched that long enough to see Diana bite the head off a parakeet and said "Yep....that's still as gross as it was back in the 80's."

THAT's where I know her from. Couldn't put my finger on it.
Nice to see Wash too.
Enjoyed the Pilot. Hope the series itself stays good.

I like the make-up they did on her, they make her look too perfect and if you look closely at her outline you can imagine a lizard under that skin (well at least I did). I hope this V is better than the original V, for the original seem to go for "How gross can we make it without have any real storyline behind it". Though the first episode could have been better, but I'm going to hold of my final judgment until I watch a few more episodes.

All things considered:
The show got my attention...BUT, way too much info crammed in one show..
they show up
they say they are peacefull so everyone claps (guess that's better the pooping their pants)
they know more about us then we know about ourselves
there is already an established sleeper cell that's been going on for years
the big black guy went from looking at wedding rings to probably leading the sleeper cell???
the preist and the fbi chick are already in love...
The makers could have drawn some of this stuff out for weeks to build up some supense. Now the whole thing will be completly about us vs. them...

She was on stargate for a while, so I'm used to her appearing outside of Firefly.
Honestly, though, shows that usually hinge on the "hotness factor" don't do to well (ie, no story and just having the person dance around showing how hot they are and hoping it garners some viewers). Not that it appears to be the case here.
(SPOILERS AHEAD!)
Good point EzyStvy...basically, the direction of the show appears to be a resistance fighting against the V's (and the drama with the FBI agent siding with the resistance and her son joining the V's PR organization)
A greater impact would've been to go along for a few episodes, let the viewers attain some affinity for the characters, then do the two surprise reveals (the big black guy--Ryan, I think-- and Wash). As the show's first episode, the impact of those reveals didn't seem to be very significant.

Agreed on those points. More character development would have been great before they jumped in headfirst.

Oh no - not ANOTHER remake.
Hopefully no TV company this side of the Atlantic decides to buy and air this nonsense.
Does nobody create any original material these days?

Nope, not really. Maybe once every 5 years. And then the show gets canceled before it even has a chance to catch on.

No wonder. I guess they're airing the last episode of 2009 for this series this week.
Then we get to wait ... what ... 1.5-2 months for new episodes. What a brilliant way to lose momentum and interest for a series. Half the people won't remember to watch after new years.

It'd be closer to 1 month since we're pretty much in the last week of November...and there's a chance they'll run re-runs....
But ya...guess they have to make room for the Christmas Holiday Specials
I'm not too sure I'll make it past tonights show....I'm starting to get bored/lose interest.

From what I remember of the original series, it was melodramatic and boring. I think I watched part of the first show, and lost interest almost immediately. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I can't find the logic in reintroducing a failed series - especially when it was about as interesting as watching paint dry.

I watched most of the original series when it aired, then lost interest... then I saw the original come back on a few years ago... I don't think I made it as far through it as in high school... I've seen all the new ones up to date and am still not quite sure why I am wasting my time with it... boring is right.

The original was worth watching. I lost interest after the second chapter. Actually, it was the second chapter in which I determined, "boring!"

I've actually been keeping up with it. I think the series would hold more interest if they sped things up. They take too long to reveal plot points.
