DSL - point-to-point connection; just you. Nobody shares that line
all the way back to the telephone office. Is pretty fast, and steady.
Cable - users share connection (bandwidth) , can be faster than
DSL (if you have no neighbors who have a connection as well),but
can be a lot slower aswell; depending on how many people are
on.
If you live in apartments; I'd say stay with DSL.

I live on a road with only about 20 houses spread out, most of them dont have broadband or computers on that hand... We got out DSL modem for free and we will also get the cable modem free.

Im pretty sure ill be the only house on the road, from this what would all choose.

i just read that charter communications is going to put a limit to bandwith that you use per month, if you go ovr you pay money. Im not sure how high this is but thier doing it to stop pirates i guess. Any way if i got this cable service from them how likely would it be to run over a limit in a month if i just surf the web, play games, and not ofen download some demos. I stay on the computer alot, many hours at a time. Some times go to sites with a lot of graphics.

Should i stay with my DSL or go with this cable

If your DSL is working well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. What doesn't he "like" about it? If it's the Enternet login software, you can get a router or RASPPPoE which will get rid of a lot of the bloated overhead of Enternet.
