SB Audigy 16-bit emulator?

I have heard that sound blaster audigy has a 16-bit emulator that would allow me to have sound in old dos games such as X-com. Trouble is, I don't know where to find it, anyone know where it is on the CD?

Wasn't it installed along with the rest of the drivers?

My old Live! X-Gamer installed right away and it didn't ask me if I wanted it.

Of course, I'm talking of a Win98FE system, things may be different in 2000 and/or XP.

Correct, there is no emulator for a NT-based OS, just 9x.

I'm using win98 SE I'm trying to get X-com to work with sound at the moment.

I found the drivers, they are in a directory called DOSDRV... but they didn't help. Still no sound. One of the applications I'm trying to run, ZSNES, isn't even a DOS app, I can't figure out what's going on.

Could you post a copy of your autoexec.bat and your config.sys files? Perhaps the needed lines are missing.

Actually

Actually youre probably right about that one. I don't really know how to work config.sys and autoexec.bat. I tried whenever I was really young and couldn't figure it out.

I'll post them as soon as I get home from work. ;-)

It's just going to be whatever the default is, I just go run>command.com

For the emulator to work, himem.sys and emm386.exe must be loaded in config.sys and there needs to be a set blaster= line in autoexec.bat. You can run sysedit to view and edit these files. Installing the emulator should make these changes for you.
