webcam woes

Hi all,

My webcam, a Logitech QuickCam Express, was working fine, right up until Windows Update downloaded and installed a newer driver.

Now I don't get any picture at all.

The PC thinks it's correctly connected to the USB port, but no pic. In Netmeeting, the option for selecting the capture device is greyed out.

I have a mini digital camera which also acts as a webcam, but I don't think this is the problem (Mustek GSm@rt Mini).

When I try to use the webcam program supplied with the webcam, it asks me twice to select my capture device, but still nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks in advace.

I assume you have uninstalled the new driver and reinstalled the original one?

try just unplugging and then plugging it back in while your computer is up and running. You did say it was USB right? If it is not then dont do this. If the cam is not working as a direct result of the updated drivers then for sure put the old ones back in there.
