Scanners, wanted to buy.

I'm in the market for a good general purpose scanner. Are the HP scanners still good? What would you recommend?

HP's are good. I have a Canon 650U and like it (good scanner on a budget). I think it's been replaced with the 670U.

HP is still good, as is Microtek. I also like the little Canons.

I just bought a new HP 7400c scanner. WOW is that thing fast. It can be either SCSI or USB. I'm using it on USB right now and I can scan an 8 x 11 picture in about 5 seconds. Resolution goes up to 2400 dpi. It also came with another little scanner to scan 35 mm film. I can scan 5 slides at one time with that. Very good package. Best Buy has them for $500 right now. Well worth it.
