geforce4mx drivers DRIVING ME MAD!

ok...ive posted this once and didnt get a good enough respose or solution on what to do. check my signature for system specs.
i have a ALBATRON GeFORCE4 MX440 graphics card. i can install the driver 30.82 on it, but when i go up higher to like 40.72 and the newest 43.45. my graphics card (i think) cant take the pressure. my games hangs only when i use higher driver versions.everything is all well and fine when i start the game until about a minute. whats wrong?

do i:
1. flash the bios of the graphics card.
2. reinstall windows( my friend says when u first load windows, and if you dont load the graphics driver first it will cause problems)
3.smash my computer to a feathery dust
4.replace my graphics card( i noticed one screw is missing on the HSF of the card. so it can kinda jut out a bit. and im scared to see it move when the fan spins fast)

i just want the newest drivers so that my card can play newer games better. the games i play now are Americas Army Operations and C&C Generals.

what i know:
its not a WHQL problem because also driver 40.72 is WHQL certified

NVIDIA doesnt even give tech support and albatron gives very limited tech support

Use the driver version that works. There isn't much else you can do with a MX card, I doubt the newer drivers would make a noticeable difference even if they do work right. You are also using a Via chipset for an Intel processor, and the motherboard is ECS - neither of these things are helping stability, and the 5400 rpm hard drive is not the speediest thing in the world. You have a decent general use computer with those components, but not a great gamer.
