side mounting cd drives

Is ther any problems with mounting cd/dvd drives sideway?.

wut do u meen?
do u meen that the side of th edrive is facing th efront of the case??
if so how do u expect to get the cd/dvd in there?

There shouldn't be any problems, but I suggest you try them on one side and then the other. I've tried some cheapo ones, but they didn't work well when they were mounted sideways.

Shouldn't be a problem and most drives have provisions to hold the CD in place while you insert and eject.

It would for me as I use a lot of mini CDR's and CDRW's. If you do not use any mini's, then should be no problem.

I just received A Dell Precision workstation 450, you can use it as a tower with the drives on there side or lay it flat.
Not happy with the layout, as a tower everything is sideway.
Just wanted to know of any problem with drives mounted sideways.
Or I'll return it and oder a real tower PC.
