Angry Fire burning about burner

Help--- my cd burner doesn't work anymore I'm new at this.
the error code reads "error test failed" command failed on device 1:1:0 read/write error or bad medium detected
(04h 00h 02h 03h 57h 00h) I'm using Windows98and the cd writer is R/RW 4x4x24R/RW

Try different media, you may have some bum blanks. Otherwise, the drive has probably seen better days, 4x burners are pretty old and they don't last forever.
