Question HP Cd-writer 8200i won't work on XP

Good Evening Folks
I just installed XP, new install - upgrade didn't work- I was using ME before: Have a HP cd-writer + 8200i with Easy CD Creator 5 SW. This burner worked great with ME - Now XP recognizes it as a DVD-CD only. How do I get XP to see it as a CD writer. Checked BIOS and it's there as a CD-W. Couldn't find anything on HP.com support. Software doesn't recognize the burner now, it asks to put in disk in when there is one in the burner. Also Easy CD creator 5 will not start.

Does anyone know if this burner is supported by XP?

Anybody have any suggestions
Thanks

That's a really old burner, and I doubt very much that it's supported by XP. I know for sure that Easy CD 5 isn't supported by XP. Go to Roxio and download the patch for XP. You never know, it might just work.
