Threaded posting
I like the new threaded posting model here at the forums. I have seen other forums use it and it can be very handy. However, I am still not sure how to get it to work correctly here.
Say that the thread looks like this: A |-B | |-C | |-D | |-E |-F and I want to specifically reply to C, putting my reply below C in the thread. It looks like the only way I can do this is to either hit "Quote" or use the quick reply function in C's post. If I use "Post Reply" at the very bottom of the thread, my response will be tacked onto the bottom under F, correct? It would be nice if each post had a "Post Reply" button so you didn't have to use the quick reply function or the "Quote" function (if you don't feel like quoting anything). Other forums have a "Post Reply" button under every post for this reason. Is this not possible, is it an issue of what looks good, or what? Like I said, I definitely like the fact that I can now reply to individual posts instead of tacking my post to the end of the thread even when it relates to a question ten posts up. Adding a "Post Reply" button to every post would make this even easier. |

Use Quick Reply - hit the button in the post to activate it, then if you want to use the full reply form, just hit the Go Advanced button.

That's what I have been doing. If that's the best option available, that's what I will stick with. Thanks.

Click on Display Modes - you have 3 choices now. He is referring to threaded mode, you are probably in linear mode. Hybrid mode shows both.
