The minimum of 10 characters
Hi there,
when replying to a thread like this one, I do it pure and simple (so I'd just write a "2", and then my usual "RJ" below it) and get reminded that i have to write at least 10 characters. So I had to change that into a complete sentence. Is there a reason for this limitation, or can it be removed ? I remember that answering that kind of threads in a short way was possible with the old forum software. RJ

I think it's the avoid post padding - I've seem lots of people do them in other loosely moderated forums.

I hear you RJ, it's a pain. But you can fool it as I did in the previous thread. Just type your short answer and then proceed to press the space bar till at least ten spaces have been typed, they type a period.
Another even more annoying problem of this new interface is that it behaves like Microsoft Word: it autocorrects the second uppercase following a first one, as you can see in "your" signature above. This is most irritating because some abbreviations ARE no longer than two characters and both need to be uppercases, so you are forced to edit your post and correct the mistake, after which it stays unchanged. Way too bothersome and time consuming to be editing every post you make, isn't it? |
