suggestion for a new thread category

i dont know where this owuld be put, with hardware, or general, or whatever, but maybe it wouldnt be a bad idea to have a section for Digital cameras and Video cameras?

if you think there are too many categorries irght now, well, the bottom 4 categories are never viewed, and have zero posts in them, i think a category like this would recieve much more traffic then those 4 that are wasting space.

just an idea.

**I was looking in the general sub-categories when i said the bottom 4, refering to things like "think tank" and the surounding categories)

Those aren't really computer-related categories, that's why we don't already have them.

Or perhaps just including the verbage "digital cameras" in one of the categories (such as the Peripherals category). At least then, they would be more likely to stay in the same place. Right now, it's not in any of the descriptions so people don't know where to post related threads.

Understanding glc, that it isn't really computer related, but there are quite a few threads in here regarding digital cameras and such. Keeping them isolated and catagorized may help.

Thanks,
Stryker

Well - still digicams fall under "and such" in Peripherals, and video cams are A/V, therefore Multimedia.

I see your point glc... it gets a little bit convoluted to try and place them in one of the categories.

The staff has had discussions about expanding the categories, and we have decided that we have the right number right now. We feel that adding more will be detrimental to the overall picture.

well, my suggestion is that i think there might be at least one category now that is hardly used or visited, and could be replaced by this suggestion. and the AV sections right now are flat under hardware and imply video cards and such. I thin ka digital camera (and related items) section would recieve much more traffic and use then some of our current categories.
