Member of the Week?

What happened to this section of the weekly newsletter? Is it being dropped or just wasn't included this week?

I thought that was the best part of the newsletter.

If you read the into by Bryan, he explains why the "member of the week" section has been left out.

We've been getting some feedback from users, lately, who are telling us that the weekly profile is getting kinda boring. We've been running these user profiles since the beginning. However, the questions rarely change. We also find that of the requests that we send out, we only get a few replies, and many of those replies that we get are answered with such haste, they aren't really interesting to read. Therefore, in the coming several newsletters, we are going to experiment with different things. Ideally, we'd like to come up with a new feature. However, in the mean time, we'll just put in interesting things -- of course, that could be good enough to be the feature. This week we've got a little blurb that Kevin J. Vella wrote up concerning back-ups.

Personally... I just kinda stopped reading them a while back.

Yeah I didn't read that at all. I guess I should have said that the ONLY part of the newsletter I read is Member of the Week. Getting burned out on the tech stuff I guess.

I like the newsletter and appreciate all the work that goes into it. It is put together nicely.

I agree with spyder, tho. I really enjoy getting to read about the other members. I just PM'd fedz a few weeks ago to comment on his profile in the newsletter.

I for one would like to see it continue, even if it's on a an every-other-week basis.

I agree with Bryan's decision, it got kinda dull, imo. If I saw a member that I had helped / gotten help from, i would read it, but other then that... I just kinda skipped it. A Member of the Month or something would be OK. I'll send a link to this to Bryan tonight when I get home.
