Portable Technology forum

I'd like to see a forum dedicated to portable technology -- laptops, PDAs, media players, and other personal electronics items. I understand that the mod staff is not a big fan of adding new forums, and that the content of this forum could work just fine in myriad existing forums, but I think creating it would make the Mech more of a destination for people who want advice on or tech support for these types of devices.

That is a wonderful idea.. I always run into a few little problems with my Lyra 2780 or Palm or something and post them up here and even though I get wonderful replies and most of my problems have been resolved somehow, a few more 'inteligent' people might join to browse those threads and could possible contribute a lot...

Would never have noticed if this thread hadn't existed... I usually just click the new posts lists, and I never need to look at where the thread is posted as it doesn't matter to me

You need to look at the index from time to time - and also read the announcements.
