delay popups

I don't mean any disrespect, but it would be nice if you all could delay the popup ads long enough to allow someone to login. I know this is trivial, but it's aggravating as heck, the first ad is blocked by firefox, but it takes me all the way to the bottom of the page, so I have to scroll back up and start logging in again, then comes the second one which covers the login almost entirely. All we need are a few seconds. I know I could avoid this by not emptying cookies, but I like to keep my main computer extra clean. Thanks, Roger

I use Opera - with popups set to pop behind - and I don't get any at all, just banner ads. I'm logging in at http://forum.pcmech.com. Then again, I do have a few ad sites blackholed in my hosts file.

One question, as you two are both supporters:

Shouldn't the ads not appear at all?

They will appear if you are not logged in.

The ads will popup until you login, that's when it knows you are a supporter.

Thats the same place I login george, guess I need to look around FF some and see if I can set the popups to stay behind the window.

CRASH Pop Ups

It would be nice if they were not so large that they take up half of the screen, I just hit my refresh button and it reloads the page without a pop up. As far as being a supporter to get the add free version this is fine, but it also appears that with so many pop ups and the size of them, it is going to detour people from joining the site if they see they have to pay to get away from the annoyance of multiple pop ups. I am a member of many forums and I see the different style of pop ups to help support the site, also the price to go add free $29.00 ??? This seems a little high for what I have seen, a lot of other sites offer add free versions for $20 year, and this is still a little high, if some of the forum owners would drop that price down to around $10 you would get a lot more members. If the forums are using Google adsense they should be getting some income there also. Don't get me wrong I think this site rocks, I do a lot of reviews of forums and this is maybe the best computer forum I have seen as of yet. Maybe one last suggestion would be to put a close button on the pop up so it would go away as soon as you click on it. Better yet do away with the pop ups no one really reads them or clicks on them anyway ( Redo 40 ) don't worry about being disrespecful the forum owners I believe want to here our feed back good or bad it helps them to set the site up and make improvements
