I have suggestion

Hiya all,

I have a little suggestion,

Maybe a Introduction forum should be added for all the new people that have just joined up so they can say hello and be welcomed & stuff.

Like this post...

IMO if people want to introduce themselves (and it doesn't happen often), they can post in General Discussion like mbr2 did.

Many people don't come here just to hang around....they usually have a problem and go straight to the problem/question/point and there would be redundancy in introducing themselves again...

What's funny about In My Opinion?

There's nothing inherently wrong with the suggestion, but it's simply not necessary. There have been many people who've suggested a new subforum that is much more pertinent to helping people with computer problems (which is why PCMech is here in the first place), and they've been shot down too. Heck, even the BYOPC forum got shot down at first -- it finally got implemented about 6-12 months after it was suggested when the staff saw a need.

We try to keep things simple when it comes to the number of forums we have. Some of the mod staff think that we have too many subforums as it is.

And yeah, IMO = In My Opinion. I wasn't making fun of your suggestion -- just pointing out why I think it's unnecessary.

AMD, if you have a beef with one of my moderators, do NOT bring it up in the open forum. Confine it to private messages.

Quote:
Treatment of Moderators
Any form of moderator harassment including insults, failing to delete a thread that you were asked to delete, doing the opposite of something you were asked to do, reposting a thread that was deleted, or protesting a ban will result in a ban. If you complain about what you feel are shortcomings of the current moderation team, either real or imaginary, you will be banned. If you don't like it here, feel free to leave. The mods are here to do a job. You will find the mods are easy-going people with "live, let live" philosophies as long as the rules are complied with. But, part of the etiquette here is to respect those with that responsibility. If you feel a change of policy is in order or that a moderator should reconsider something, always feel free to email or send a private message. We will not argue or debate moderator action or policy in public.
