I think the slowdown is on the PC Mech forum server end. The slow performance happens from time to time. It could be that Drisley is doing something to the servers or the forum software.

/flushdns : Flushes and resets the contents of the DNS client resolver cache. During DNS troubleshooting, you can use this procedure to discard negative cache entries from the cache, as well as any other entries that have been added dynamically.

Flush and reset a client resolver cache using the ipconfig command

I'm seeing a 5-7 second lag in getting the main page to load. Been like that for a while. But, I haven't had any issues with the forum.

When I try to connect it get as far as "connecting to www.pcmech.com" and just grinds away. Like I said it is slower than dialup a lot slower. It makes no difference it I use windows or linux as the o/s. Most of the time I just give up and do something else.

i have the same issue but for me its usually only the main pcmech page that has lag, when im in the forums late at night i sometimes have a lot of lag, but i just figured the mech was updating the servers, or something along those lines when they know traffic is at a minimum...
