Lightbulb Folding @ Home

Personally I feel as though pcmech should do a bit better job at promoting Folding @ Home, the only reason I found out about it was because I saw it as an avatar and was like 'hmmm what that?'
I believe pcmech has the biggest forum for technology on the web...and yet our team is so much smaller than all of the other teams. I think that If it were to be promoted a bit more, we could really help out so much more.

Do you know of a bigger one?
I had heard anandtech.com was another big one, however pcmech has many more topics and threads than they do.

EDIT: I did just notice than anandtech has 151,000 members to our 30,000. However our 30,000 seem to be a whole lot more active!

I think there are a lot of "bigger" ones (I belonged to a few before I found PC Mech) but this one is by far the most civil. There are forums out there that seem to exist only so that it's members can have flame wars and behave like rude childish brats. Once I found PC Mech I never went back to those other forums.

But yes, there are a number of bigger forums than pcmech, but as cricket said, this one is most civil... you can visit the Hord, EOC, ocforums, XS, etc. While you might find a lot of good info there, ya gotta look around all the crap to get it.

And try asking a real newbie question and see what kind of responses you get. On some forums even the mods will attack newbies.

Its kind of like comparing Macdonalds to a Five Star Resturant. If you go to Macdonalds your going to get bad service, and bad food...but it will be fast (sometimes). Here you get great service, and great food...but it might take a minute or two more.

Also, on some of the other forums all I see are people going bump bump bump, and nothing ever gets said.
Thanks PCMECH!!

Biggest or not, it IS the best forum, by far. That's been my experience.
