Dell Inspiron

If you mouse over the pc name above, you get a pop up AND a pretty darn lound song that will blast you out of your chair.

Has it always done that and I've been lucky to not stumble on it before?

These pop-up text link ads are the stupidest, most annoying advertising invention I have ever seen.

That one is particularly annoying. I hadn't stumbled upon one with annoying music before.

Really embarrassing when that happens at work.

I don't like having to turn my sound totally off bec. one site puts blaringly obnoxious ads on its pages ....

I've seen (or heard as the case may be lol) those on here occasionally and a number of sites. They annoy the heck out of me, but I don't see them that often though.

I uses a hosts file to block a portion of the ads out there. For instance, I don't see that contextual ad you're talking about. It elimates some of the obtrusive an annoying junk floating around out there.
