This site seems to be exceedingly difficult to navigate

This site seems to be exceedingly difficult to navigate and find what you are looking for.

The only thing that is useful in the slightest is now the forums thanks to some really informative members. You should put the forums link closer to the home link on the top nav bar. You should also have a search function on that top bar so i dont have to search for the search input box.

I dont really have any specific suggestions, but it seems everytime i come here i am bombarded with pop up ads and cant find what i am looking for.

I have noticed this of late as well. The homepage seems cluttered and I have a hard time finding things. I was looking for an article I wrote a while back and I eventually gave up because it was so annoying to find. (This has gotten a bit better.)

The popup search is a very bad idea. I closed it the first few times thinking it was an ad. The site also seems very messy. Lots of text just thrown everywhere. Nowadays I usually just visit the forums because I don't want to look at the homepage.

I'm not trying to be rude, but I think that the site needs a little work. I understand there is a lot that goes into keeping a site going (especially when there are problems with servers going down), but I think a big priority should be making the site attractive and clean looking.

I remember trying to find an article I read here once a good while ago... yikes. Also are articles stored by any type of categorization (ie... freeware, internet, hardware, etc.)? That would be helpful if you don't know what you are looking for.

I would appreciate if you guys could be more concrete in your suggestions and/or exactly what problems you are having.

For what it's worth, I have had several people tell me the homepage is now EASIER to navigate than it has been. What's more, in our recent reader survey, 83% rated the site design as either good or great. Site easy of use was rated at 85% either good or great.
