Way too big for his britches

After reading the most recent email regarding how to make money via the internet I am finally fed up! I have been a member for several years...way before Dave became so freaking greedy and the "make money on the internet" ... "buy now"..."the price WILL go up"....UNSUBSCRIBED.

Good for you Dave. Glad you've made a ton of money. Your site has way too many ad's for me these days and your emails are no longer informative as they once were....they've just become another vehicle for you to "make even more money".

Hasta la vista, baby. I have no problem with capitalism. The more Dave makes the happier I am for him.

I see someone is complaining about FREE access to our forums? Do you complain about having to watch ads on TV - when you are PAYING the cable or satellite company for access if you don't have an antenna? Are you going to GIVE us a server and a data pipe to host these forums on at no charge?

Sigh, Life's too short to haggle of the little things, I been a member of PCMech for sometime now and like the people here on the forums. That's all I'm going to write about this.

I think they were complaining about the quality of the emails(newsletter) and not the forums. I subscribed to the emails for a while, but didn't find it too interesting. The forums on the other hand (or at least the people here) are top notch, no complaints.

Well, good grief - if you think the newsletters are trash, don't read them and unsubscribe! If you bought a premiere membership and don't think it's worth it, David gives a money back guarantee, USE it.

Trolling the forums and slamming him is no way to get anything done except to draw adverse attention to yourself.

I've just recently joined this forum and find nothing that's not interesting or informative. Bet if you had to put up the capital and resources and put together such a great staff to run a forum you would have a better attitude. I've been reading this forum for over 2 years and learning enough that I'm just getting to a point that I may be able to contribute and help someone.

There is quality people and sound advice on this site. One last thing before I get out of hand, don't go away mad, just go away.

BTW....Sept 2008 hardly substantiates several years!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I think people forget that I run a business here, and that quite a bit of what we do is completely free for all. Complaining about my promotions to make money is idiotic. Do you think I work 60 hours per week out of charity?

Every email I send has an unsubscribe option. And the membership has a cancel button if you want to go that route.

This site is an inspiration, it inspired me to open a small business in computer sales and repairs. I have learned a few things here and glc have been enormous help.
Only a moron would make such a stupid post like the OP. I would say 7 out of 10 of the news letters interest me, there is no way drisley or anyone else for that matter, can write 100% interesting articles or newsletters for 100% of all the people who read up about computers and software.
I will continue to be a supporter of this site as it in my opinion it is the best all around computer knowledge site on the internet. Drisley, rock on man, make all the money you can make, you have done a good thing here and deserve to make a good living from it!!

Thanks, Khalil. And I'm glad you're finding so much value from PCMech. That's why I do this stuff, because face it, I wouldn't make a dime if people thought this site sucked.

It's true this is a great site...sure there are adds but so what...99.9% of other sites have them to...

the best part about this site is the way it's run and the staff...there are alot of other sites that arent near as nice as this one and their members are all flaming idiots...

they are all fanboys about certain products and most of those dont even own the products they are being fanboys about and you can't get any good information...everyone and their brother at those site slams you with it....

I Admin at one site and moderate at a few others and I try to carry the same good characteristics there that are here...and you can tell a big difference in the member base...

I stay away from those other sites where the staff isnt much better than the members themselves...

I mean come on who needs google when you got GLC....does this guy even do anything beside beat you to the punch on every answer (thats a complement G)

I say rock on Drisley too...great site keep up the good work...it's what keeps me coming back...

Not to take away from the stellar job that G does, but a chunk of the answers that he gives are from using the Google. You'd be surprised at how much you can find through Google if you know to always try it first .

I know he does....

I guess I wrote it wrong...I was more trying to imply glc has probably worn out the Google search bar being so informative....

I mean this guy is very informative on a broad spectrum...you just dont get that on other forums...I have been to at least 50 forums and so far there hasnt been another person like him...not to single him out or anything...

one thing you can learn from G... the search function does work and it's very handy...

but just be thankful most people dont use it...because if they did there would be alot less help forums... and isnt this funny...?

GLC made a funny! I do agree about GLC. I can be assured that when he tells me something, he knows what he is talking about and has the solution. I use Google a lot for different things too, but not only does he know which advice on Google is correct, where to find it, he also understands it and can answer questions if things go wrong.

Now, that isn't to diss others here. There are several knowledgeable and helpful people here. But GLC seems to have done the lion's share on a lot of my issues I think and I know that his advice is solid. I know there are others and eventually given enough time and experience I might know who they are. ;D I do know a few others I think.

Very few places are as solid as this place. An ad (or whatever) is commonplace and acceptable. I'll start whining when my monitor starts shaking, flashing and needing a card swipe. Could happen!

Needs saying

Hi All: I am new to Pc Mech, and I am sure that most of you feel that this thread is closed but I need to say this; Every time I see idiotic posts like the ones made griping about ads and how GLC uses Google and how the person is fed up, I always think....wait a minute!! Did you not look at this site before you paid for it??? Di you not notice th eunsubscribe link??? Did you not see read the Money BAck offer when you signed on??? The problem with the world today is too many people just whining to whine instead of praising good work and realising thzat they are griping about something they can't do themselves anyway!!!!!!!!!!!! Best option would be to just ignore theeir post all together. Nes PA???

Have a great day everyone and you guys here at PcMech keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!
