Trouble loading up the site

I've been having some trouble the last couple of days logging into the site (forums) with firefox (v3.5.3). The first few days I was having problems, I was randomly getting redirected to various sites with adware/spyware (which my antivirus blocked; using AVG). Starting this morning, AVG automatically prevents me from loading up PCMech and reports it as an attack site. I recently overrode it and started randomly getting redirected to various sites again (also blocked). I've run anti-virus scans since I started having trouble (have all windows and AV updates and run daily scans on my computer), and I've only had problems when on this site, other sites work fine and don't redirect. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? If it's just me is there any suggestions for fixing this problem?

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
If you haven't, try running Malwarebytes in Safe Mode with Networking. See if it finds any baddies the others are missing.

I haven't had trouble with redirecting, but tonight for some reason the site didn't want to load. Had to refresh the tab like 5 times to get the main forum page to come up and then refreshed 2 more times to get the "new posts" stuff to work. Kept giving me the dreaded blue and white "Navigation cancelled" error. After the refreshes though, it has worked fine as always, so I don't know whether the servers were just getting hammered with requests at that certain time or what.

I had the same exact problem as Masaki last night. It was late so I just logged out and went to bed, with hopes it would be ok in the morning. Doesn't seem to be happening now, though. Problem resolved?

If you notice anything specific like a particular advert or something that causes the problem post in the other thread about it with as much detail as possible, time and date and if possible the advertiser.

Haven't run malwarebytes yet, but I haven't had the problem today at all; usually I'll get redirected as soon as the forum page loads up, now not having any trouble.

Just guessing, but sounds like there's a script in one of the advertisements. They get hacked sometimes too.

From a PM sent to me by a member:

Here is the message I get each time I go to the PC Mech home page.....

Danger: AVG Search-Shield has detected active threats on this page and has blocked access for your protection.
The page you are trying to access has been identified as a known exploit, phishing, or social engineering web site and therefore has been blocked for your safety. Without protection, such as that in the AVG Security Toolbar and AVG, your computer is at risk of being compromised, corrupted or having your identity stolen. Please follow one of the suggestions below to continue.

IP Address: 66.94.242.24
I ran a lookup on that IP:

Host name: ad3.rm.vip.sp2.yahoo.com
IP address: 66.94.242.24
Alias(es): None
Looks to me like AVG doesn't like Yahoo for some reason.

Seemed to have no trouble earlier, but just now I got redirected and a firefox warning came up about an attack site; seconds later AVG pops up saying a virus has been found in firefox (virus has been blocked). Didn't have enough time to get the information from the warning or AVG but if it happens again, I will post back with the information.
