While in the thread click the QUICK LINKS link in the upper right... Part of it is covered up... As in I can't see the Mark Forums Read button that I'd like to be able to use. (i then use the same link at the bottom of the main page as a work around)

I do NOT have this issue with Opera at 1280x1024. However, I can see where it might be due to the TEMPORARY right sidebar ad, which will be going away in about a week.

Flawedfox and Safari display the page fine. IE9 doesn't.

1024 x 768

It's the "Like" count thing that's in the way.

In Opera, the dropdown covers the "Like" count.

And we can't wait for you to adjust the site accordingly

If it's just that side ad, I'd just wait for it to go away. If the ad is not the problem, yeah, it should be fixed. IE might be considered a POS and the worst browser, but a number of us prefer it, and a good web designer has to make his sites viewable on all browsers.

Weird, though, that the Compatibility View button isn't available for this site as it is for others; that was my first attempted solution to the problem, but couldn't use it.

The Compatibility View button was enabled for this site for me... I disabled it and it didn't change anything.

In the for what it's worth catagory - I posted this issue on another site. One of the guys wrote back:

Quote:
The problem is probably caused by an omitted CSS Layer property. Page elements (boxes) can have a layer value which determines which object appears on top when 2 or more elements occupy the same space.

IE has come a long way as far as CSS support goes, but it still has a few bugs (old MS proprietary browser code). You'll most often see this issue when an object is supposed to appear on top of a Flash object because the code used to embed Flash on a page is non-standard (per W3C) on 99% of Web pages.
Don't ask me what it means...but it sounded good
