New Search PCMech
It's cute.... It's a little large but it's cute.
The second one you see inside a thread at the bottom seems to maybe be a little overkill.

Might seem that way in a thread with just a few posts. But, put yourself into the mindset of a person arriving on this site via search, to find a solution to something. The thread they're on may or may not solve it for them. Giving them a search box right in the flow of the site is very helpful.
And, most of the traffic to these forums is unregistered people simply surfing for solutions. |

Besides that, it's really right up front saying, "Hey, do a search."

Exactly.
![]() Plus, the Google search allows people to search the WHOLE site, not just the forums. Over 6,000 articles on the main site, and a lot of people never get out of these forums. |
