New Search PCMech
It's cute.... It's a little large but it's cute.
The second one you see inside a thread at the bottom seems to maybe be a little overkill.

Might seem that way in a thread with just a few posts. But, put yourself into the mindset of a person arriving on this site via search, to find a solution to something. The thread they're on may or may not solve it for them. Giving them a search box right in the flow of the site is very helpful.
And, most of the traffic to these forums is unregistered people simply surfing for solutions. |

Besides that, it's really right up front saying, "Hey, do a search."
 Which in turn, a lot of us are guilty of 'not doing'.

Exactly.
 Plus, the Google search allows people to search the WHOLE site, not just the forums. Over 6,000 articles on the main site, and a lot of people never get out of these forums. |
