search click gives me something i don't want!

hey everyone,

i think i found a problem with one of the banners. when i click on the search button for searching threads (as you can see, i was looking for the all important and technical ninja), it opens up a page that scans my computer for whatever reason. i close it before it gets anywhere, because i don't like the idea of my computer being scanned by an unknown source. does anyone else have this problem?

I've seen a few pics in members' sigs that also do that sort of thing. They list browser, IP and service provider.

No such banner for me. I agree with force flow, it is a window that displays a file on your PC- you are the only person who can see it.

BTW, "i" before "e" except after "c".

homer, that's an ad banner designed to get your attention. It appears it worked!

It is very easy to get your OS, browser, IP, etc when you are on the web. Its not really a security vulnerability, but those untrained in how the net works think it is.

no, i know how the banner works and whatnot, i posted the pic to show which banner is malfunctioning.

when that one shows, whenever i hit the search button to search the forums, it takes me to the banner site, which is not what i want.
