Weird AIM problem....

Ya I know, what else is new right. But I'm trying to figure this out for my little brother. He can not seem to type inside AIM. The keyboard works everywhere else, but he can not write inside the send message window. At first I was thinking the keyboard got pulled while he was using the program or something along those lines, but no luck. Resetting the computer didn't help. Then he told me when he tried to hit the C key inside AIM it would bring up chat, and that the I key does something as well. Then I thought that perhaps one of the shortcut keys on his keyboard was stuck, but that isn't it either. THat would cause problems all over the place, not just in one program. I looked at the AIM prefs section. Nothing there that caught my eye. Anyone have another idea what I could try, or seen this before? He has XP home if that helps any.

No, actually I would run you antivirus first, then if that doesn't fix it, run Adaware or Spybot S&D. If that doesn't work, then reinstall AIM and see what luck you get.

Hope that helps,
kram

Well I ran Ad-Aware like 2 days before the problem started, and Norton nonight. Reinstalling didn't do anything either.

I will be glad to. I did a google search the other day, and it seems like this is pretty common. There are requests for help with this all over the net, but no straght anwser yet. I looks like Ad-Aware / Spybot is involved with deleteing or messing with 'something' but no one can figure out what.
