Replacing WMP 9 w/ WMP 7

For some reason, WMP 7 was deleted on my computer this morning. I have no idea how, it was working fine, I really like it, I've been having some spyware problems which are now over, that might have been it. Anyway, I decided to install WMP 9, but for asthetic reasons, I decided against it. That's when I ran into Microsoft.

It's a b*#@$ to uninstall WMP 9. You have to do a system restore, and I did. However, something still keeps putting WMP 9 install files in the windows media explorer file. I deleted the WMP folder, and that was re-created. If I try in install WMP 7, it says I have a superior version, and won't let me install it. I've been working on this for 6 hours. What the h*** is going on, anyone?

Yeah, it's XP. @!#$)(* Microsoft. If it weren't for the games... Oh well.

I could try WMP 10, but what would be ideal is WMP 7. Really, aside from the viral nature of WMP 9, there's nothing wrong with it. My main complaint is if I want to watch a movie, and put it to full screen, and I move my mouse to pause the movie, instead of overlaying the pause/play button etc., it shrinks the movie in a jerky fasion and then pulls that up. Oh, and I don't really like the silver interface.

I know, it's for purely asthetic reasons, but there should be no reason for me to uninstall this and bring back WMP 7, which I had no problem with. Does anyone know why WMP 7 won't install?

You can change those things that annoy you in WMP9. The color can be changed to whatever color you want by either clicking the little paint brush in the bottom right corner or going to View > Enhancments > Show Enhancments and then go to the color chooser. As for the resizing thing just download the TweakMP plugin, install it, then go to tools > Plugins > TweakMP > Full Screen > and uncheck the "resize video when full-screen controls are displayed". Appearantly you aren't the only one annoyed by that so they added the option to turn it off.
