Partition software
Hello all....I'm looking for good FREE partiton software. Anytime I do a search I can only find ones that I need to purchase. Short on cash so something that is easy so use and free would be perfect.....

I wouldn't trust free software for something as crucial as partitioning. Best available are Partition Magic and Acronis Partition Expert 2003. Only other option I'd trust is borrowing from a friend. Of course these are only necessary if you are partitioning a drive that already has data on it. You can use XP to set partitions during install and Fdisk from a 98 boot disk on a 98 install.

Here's a link to a free one (demo). I got it from the PC Mech newsletter. I tried it and it seems to work pretty good. http://www.7tools.com/pm/demo.htm

Ranish Partition Manager - but it's not compatible with NTFS.

The operative word is FREE. You can get Partition Magic 7 for $27.
