DVD Burning Problem

I've just had my DVD burner for a few days and I am getting the hang of how to use it. I have dvd xcopy for my software. Anyway, for some reason most of the movies I've copied for some reason have had skippy parts in them, mostly near the end. I was wondering what I may possibly be doing wrong, and what i could do to make my copies error free.

Thanks in advance

Nate

Hello and welcome to PC Mech.

Skippy parts usually are a sign of low quality media. It can also be caused by improper burning, but I guess DVD XCopy burns them properly, so I reckon it's bad media.

What brand are you using ?

Anyway, you can download DVDInfo to see what dye is used. Insert the DVD with the skippy parts, load DVDInfo, select your drive on the top and click on DVD media info.
The info of interest is Media code/Mfr ID. What is it for your DVD ?
Also what is Book Type and Media type ?

RJ

Memorex usually makes good discs. Anyway I'd try another brand, like a Verbatim DataLifePlus DVD+R.
And please list the detailed information about your discs.
