cds not playing in my stereo
i got a lite-on 52x32x52x and im burning audio cds with nero express at 12x (cd-rw) i can play the cds in one car but they dont play in the other :/ the cds also dont play in the main stereo in the house or the dvd player but they play in my lil sisters stereo. i am adding mp3's to the compilation on the understanding that they are automatically converted to a format playable by all cd players.
does anyone know why some stereos arent playing the cds?? is it because the cds are cd-rw? |

CD-RWs don't play in Cd players, only on the computer. At least I think that's the problem. I found this here: http://www.hftonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12070
"Basically, yes - a cdrw is rewritable and is mormally used to transfer large files between computers, to tempororily hold data and to act as another storage device. If packet writing is set up (Direct CD, Incd etc.) you can drag and drop files to a CDRW in your cdrw drive as easily as to a normal hard drive. It's suggested that they are good for 10 000 writes - I've not had pleasant experiences transferring information from them in different CDRW drives, but they work fine for temporary storage. CDRWs don't work in many cd/dvd players. That said, it's not guaranteed that CDRs will work in every cd/dvd player either. And ... a quick look at a Futureshop flyer will show you new products which will play CDs, DVDs. CDRs, VCDs and CDRWs - and play many different formats to boot. The world is changing quickly. But, as a rule of thumb, a cdrw will not play in your stereo. A CDR will play .wav files (CD-DA music data) in most home stereos. The primary difference between data and audio burning is that audio copying is more "fiddly". There has to be extra data burned to cover the error correction built into audio cds. That's why 650 mb of audio turns out to be 700 mb of wav files. I didn't know that until today - if you want more info, search on DAE (digital audio extraction), or Red Book Standards." HTH

You'll be able to see on any CD player on the market whether it plays CD-R, CD-RW, or MP3 files. As far as I am aware, most standalone boomboxes and stereosystems support CD-R, some support CD-RW, and few MP3.

I understand, but pick one forum. People here get around to most of them and when you have parallel threads going, it's a waste of everyone's time.
