wireless tracking

A while back i saw something on tech tv where you can see who's on your wireless network and send messages to them (like if someone is hooking in without you knowing)

does anyone know where I can find this software, or something like it?

(this is more for just fun and experimentation, I know all about encryption and filtering mac addresses and other wireless security, so i'm all covered there)

Well, I do know that you can look in your DHCP client table in the router for "foreign" machines - and probably boot them out.
