Old CD software will not work with XP.
My dad just upgraded to XP, and his adaptec software he received with the yamaha CD burner does not work with Xp. I tried searching for upgrades....but is adaptec now roxio?
And do I have to pay just to be able to use my software again? My CD version is 3.5C.

ez-cdcreator was bought out by roxio and yoy do need a newer version to work with xp.
I would recommend useing nero if you find that you need to buy new software. also yamaha no longer makes cd writers, I don't think there is any support for them eather. or maybe I am thinking about kennwood |

Use DeepBurner. It has a Nero-Like interface and it's free.

You can buy a new burner that comes with XP-compatible software cheaper than you can buy retail CD burning software - and you would also have the advantage of a nice new 52 speed drive. Any drive that came with Adaptec 3.5 has to be slow as snails and it won't run forever.

The update to get Easy CD Creator compatible with XP is free...although their website doesn't make that clear.
Click here to go to the download site, download and apply the update and you should be good to go. |

No, you can't update 3.5 to XP standards.

Oops, sorry. Missed the reference to the 3.5 version.
Yes, I really am going to learn how to read and retain the information therein...and I'm going to do that real soon now.
