Outlook wont respond because of a blank email from "unknown sender"

About once a day my outlook will stop responding, and wont download any of my email. When this happens I log into comcast.net and get my email through their. When ever I get this error it is cause by a blank email from an unknown sender. What should I do?

Have you ran an online virus scan (ie TrendMicros Housecall), and spyware scans (Ad-aware and Spybot). I have seen problems with supious emails and outlook before, with similar symptons to this. Have you installed all the Outlook updates?

Im using ad-aware and spam inpsector. Also I have norton 2003 running, but I dont know if that does anything with online. I have auto-updates from windows, but let me go check if there are any updates for outlook I can grab.

Thanks

Although I don't think you have a virus, just to be on the safe you should do an online scan, since some virii knock out any installed antivirus program, and my personal experience is its best to run both in a situation like this.

If you didn't already know you can run Houscall online at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp

Most (GOOD ONES) ISP's should be blocking spam that runs thur there system

My Yahoo! account I get e-mails all the time from "unknown sender" or it will say "NONE" for a sender so one time I tried sending it to my ISP account well I never got it because my ISP blocks e-mails like this

Norton has an email scanning feature. It may be that it's choking on the blank message.

To find out, next time you encounter the problem, temporarily disable the email scan in Norton and see if the messages will then download. Don't forget to turn the scan back on.

If you've got a hotmail or yahoo account you can forward e-mail to it as they scan the e-mail for virus's
