AIM Problem
Does anyone know how to get around the AIM 4.8 direct connect bug/problem? I use 4.8 because I like AIM+ and I don't want to use the newer versions because they're too cluttered. Is there a patch or anything I can download to fix it, I'm not running a router or anything, just Kerio Firewall and I turned it off and it still doesn't work. I know that 4.8 can't communicate with newer versions supposedly, is there anything I can do or any other alternative besides Trillian?

Yeah...looks like you have to upgrade. The new version finally implemented dead aim (or at least AOL's version of it -- you can link multiple screen names and have them all logged in at once, or however you choose) and now allows you to go invisible. Meaning you click the invisible button and it shows everyone that you've logged off, but you're really still on. People can still AIM you and vice versa without ever showing that you're on.
