go on a google search and look up alcohol or cdr-win, they both very good programs for putting more than 800mb of data on a disc.

aren't PS2 games on DVDs? would they actually fit on a CD, and play off it aswell?

also is it possible to back up gamecube games, and burn them onto small DVDs so they would work in a GC?

PS2 games are on DVD -- the original ones were not -- I think the first actual game on DVD was this Japanese army game (I have it but can't think of the name right now), but I believe some are not DVD (It would only be a few though). They would not play off a cd because the information would be too large to fit on a normal cd-r. You would have to buy a DVD burner to be able to burn your own DVDs.

Not sure about Gamecube...I'm a Xbox / PS2 guy myself.

Cool

I have been using alcohol 120% to faithfully reproduce exact copies of games, software, etc. It runs on my win xp home and win 2000 pro systems flawlessly. After reading 50 reviews at the cnet downloads.com site, however, 40% of the alcohol 120% users stated it has hosed their systems. , so I hesitate to recommend using it.
I therefore recommend a safer product called clone cd. You can read a review, and download a trial version
here
cheers, ~pawprint~

It's not that simple, folks. To play a backed up game, you need a mod chip.

No, you cannot play a PS2 game on a computer.
