I need help now (WMP)

It is impossible to burn a CD. I've tried every single thing there is to burn, but the same cannot copy thing comes up. I know your most likely answer to me is that I dont have and MP3 file Wav or WMA file-well I've checked about 3000 times and they ARE the right files I've been going nuts here trying to solve it for months. Any help would would be VERY appreciated!

Put a blank CD into your cd drive, open the folder with the files you want to burn right click the file, send it to CD-RW drive and a little picture of a drive should pop up in your task bar. Click it and an on the side it should say "write files to a CD". See if that works first. I'm assuming that you're using Windows XP too.

Do you have WMP 9? If so, go Tools --> Options --> Copy Music. At the top of this page, it will say "copy music to this location." that's where your music files should be. also, can you burn data to cd's with your drive? i had some problems copying music to cd's in wmp a while ago, and it turned out that my drive was actually not working... if you can't burn to cd's outside wmp, it might be the drive.

are the files copy protected? what kind of cd-rw drive do you have? i'm going to assume that you've tried other companies' media, sounds like you've tried just about everything lol... it's awful frustrating when you keep trying and nothing gets fixed. i've felt like taking a baseball bat to my system a couple of times lol.

ummm.... i'm not sure what you are saying for choosing a location... if you mean for copying off of a cd, any file that you will remember is fine, if you mean copying to a cd, you want to select your cd-rw drive. keep talking, we'll figure this out lol...

First, you have to have the right to burn all the selections. I had the same problem on iTunes. Apparently, there was one song it didn't like. It acted like it was broken.

Timbit-I'm gonna do what you suggested ok here it is-

1. I choose a file to burn from the media guide.
2.Add it to the media library
3.Right click on the file
4.Copy to CD or Device

Thats where i get stuck-it just says cannot copy. No matter what I do Its impossible.

First I got a pack of Cd-RWs, then I got a pack of CDs. Neither of them worked. Yes I can copy a CD to the WMP just fine with no problem.

since no one is replying i think that last post accidently made u guys think i can copy a CD now. (just because of the lack of posts) I meant copy a CD TO the WMP not Copy files to a CD.

U might not have thought that, but i just wanted to be sure because i read it and it even fooled me.

Gee, that was an awkward post.

Go to Search on your Start menu. Look for the name of one of your songs. Should give you the name of the folder your files are in. Then you can open Nero or whatever you want and start burning.

Don't get all hostile if I'm wrong, but I always thought music CDs had to be burned with CD-R's, not RW's.

They can be burned on both. CD-RWs are erasable and rewriteable
CD-Rs are not erasable and play on more CD players.

I've tried both types of CDs.

ok, sry i was gone, had to eat supper with family. now, you said that you chose something from media guide... that music is all protected. you won't be able to burn it as far as i know. if you download stuff from "ahem" p2p programs, or copy stuff from your own cd's, that shouldn't be protected. add that stuff to your media library, then make a playlist. go to "copy to cd or device" and then under "items to copy" scroll down and select the playlist. then try to burn it.

ok, i'm stuck. the music is not protected, the cd-rw works everywhere except in wmp. so it has to be a wmp problem. you have wmp 9 with all the updates i assume. you may have already done this... go to tools --> options --> devices and see if your cd-rw drive is there.

I can't believe you haven't gone crazy. i've been working on this for a couple hours and i'm about to go crazy. you've been at it for months? man, i woulda ripped that drive out by now and given it to my sister's physics class to destroy -- i'd leave them instructions to do it slowly and ensure that it couldn't ever be put back together, lol.

anyways, i'm stuck. completely. maybe could you tell us the exact model of cd-rw and i'll do some research on it.
