After only 1:52 h ? You should consider to wait at least one day for a reply
The last time that I replied you so fast . . well that was coincidence coz I was online at the same time as you. . .

A good free program, but it takes a while to get into it, is VirtualDub. Other than that I don't remember any free video editing program that still exists.
And just forget about movie maker, it is just crap. Don't waste your time with it.
Do you need to save the file as .wmv? I mean, media player plays alot of different files.

just downloaded that and noticed that i tried that one before off of download.com, and don't really like it at all.

i dont think windows movie maker is all that bad considering the other free programs. is there anyway to save a file to a media player format off of windows movie maker?

I don't have a link for you right now, but you should try Avid Free DV. (Just do a Google search). I find it very comprehensive and offers a lot of control over detail, more so than many video editing packages that can cost a lot.

Might as well give it a try, after all, its free.

Keep in mind Avid Free DV will only work with DV files (AVI-DV).

I have found Windows Movie Maker to be decent for what you want to do. I have actually made some decent videos using it. You say you can't save it as a movie? Did you click File > Save Movie File? Keep in mind that it takes a while to render a movie and save it.

There is a free trial for it. There is also Ulead Video Studio 8 which I have used before and it is a good program with a fully functional 30 day trial.
