Best Instant Messaging clients?

Can everyone interested recommend thier favorite IM client?

I have been using MSN messenger, but it seems to not act well with ZAPro, but i love its low memory usage (Trillian seems to use more than twice as much memory).

So far i've used Trillian free, and MSN Messenger.

Thanks all

I like GAIM, it can do lots of different networks including IRC, MSN, Yahoo and AIM.

oh yeah, it should support mutliple types of accounts, like WhatsThisBoxFor? mentioned, and also use a low amount of memory.

btw, thanks for that suggestion

Sorry I forgot to give you a link, here it is, http://sourceforge.net/projects/gaim/

I find that it is very good and doesn't have some of the annoying features others have, like displaying everyone who is offline.

I use the paid Trillian 2.0+ - it's working well (besides the periodic crashes), and I like it a lot. It's a little on the hard side to use, though - sometimes, you need to fiddle around with it for a while until you get used to it . When Trillian crahses, I use the older freeware version of Dead AIM.
