Sonic is the maker of DVD/CD buring software, My DVD. You should be able to disable the reminder by going to: run/type in msconfig/click the start up tab/remove a check from the box in front of the Sonic or My DVD reminder. Otherwise, just let it update and it will stop. Should be harmless.
