Norton AntiVirus problems...
As you can tell I am having problems with my Symantics. I'm running XP Pro, with the newest version of Norton AntiVirus. The antivirus keeps telling me to run LiveUpdate and when I do it says everything is up-to-date but will continue to remind me. Then when I scan my compute for viruses (after it tells me I need to run LiveUpdate) it will do a couple thousand files then get to my Temp folder under Local Settings. It will look as though it is scanning (nothing freezes and it responds) but it just sits there.
Also when i start messing w/ Norton it seems as though my CPU can run as high as 50 to 100%. If there is anything else you need to know just tell me....HELP ME! |

Time to clean out that temp folder. Everything in there can safely be deleted.

Thanks GLC, I did that not to long ago. The Temp folder was nearly a gig, but it still stops when it reaches that folder. I also haven't figured out why LiveUpdate isn't working.
The CPU usage is worrying me. It shows NAVW32.exe using all of the Cpu in the task manager. I assume this stands for Norton AntiVirus. I'm beginning to think it's a virus. I'm not sure how it got through Norton, but I don't doubt it got through. Any other help? Thanks again |

You could try Symantics web site forum to see if anyone else has had this problem and for a fix
I had to do this for a different problem and found a fix (believe it or not) |
