Unable to uninstall KeyGO2.2

I can't seem to uninstall a keyboard re-mapping utility from my system. I get the following error message:-

"Unable to locate the installation log file 'C:\Program Files\GDGSystems\KeyGO2.2\Uninst.isu'. Uninstallation will not continue"

EDIT: The application appears in the registry, so I have no clue why it can't uninstall.

Any ideas?

TIA...

Do I just delete the file from the registry? Anyone?

Follow these directions to get rid of your problem:

Start, Run the regedit program and delete the folowing key entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\KeyGO

Also, go into MSCONFIG and remove Key Go from your start up list. Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply. I just did that, but under run, there's no KeyGO, there's just OptionalComponents. I'd hate to have to format just to get rid of one pesky program, but I'll do it if I have to.

This is the result of having set KeyGO to automatically load at Windows Startup before uninstalling it. The other option is to reinstall KeyGO and unset the automatically load at Windows startup option in the Startup dialog box from the Options pull-down menu. Then uninstall again.

The thing that baffles me though is the fact that the utilty is seen in the registry in this line:-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GDSystems\KeyGO2.2\2.20.000

Should I delete that? Or will that mess things up?

The site in which this information came from suggests the two methods of correcting this known problem by the manufacture. I would say that if your getting error messages at start up I would proceed with re-installing the program, disable the run at start up process and try to uninstall it again. Once your errors disappear I would remove any instance of Key Go from your reg. Hope this helps.

No error messages come up on start up. I go to Control Panel>Add/remove programs, and KeyGO is listed, I go to remove it and that error message I stated earlier in this thread comes up. That being the case, it is safe to say that deleting the instance of KeyGO from the registry will be ok and won't mess things up?

Thanks.

I would say yes. However, this being unknown territory I would back up that reg key in the event something goes wrong. Go to this directory and clear out any Key Go entries, it is directly related to what shows up in your add/remove programs list. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Post back and let me know how things work out!

Well, I went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, hit software, hit GDsystems, and deleted GDSystems which then deleted KeyGO. But the program still appears in Add/remove, and I get the same error message when I go to uninstall it. This means a format, doesn't it?

EDIT: Now just re-read your post and went to that reg key you stated and deleted it. Gonna go restart....
