Windows 2000 pro or Windows ME. ???
I've been a fan of Windows 98se for quite some time. It's now necessary to use software which requires an os greater than 98se. I have the chance to load Windows 2000 pro or windows Me. What are the pros and cons of each os? Thanks

Windows me is Just an upgrade of Windows 98, Windows 2000 pro is a new SO with new features, like a NT core and NTFS support wich allows you to access files larger than 2 gb with no problems, the only thing you will have to do is to install an aspi driver for some multimedia apps.

I would hardly call ME an upgrade. It was possibly the worst OS ever produced. It was plauged with bugs and problems. Windows 2000 would be a major upgrade from 98se. It is much more stable. Depending on your needs, XP could be an even better upgrade.

I just fixed a fellow's computer than had Windows ME, needless to say I upgraded it to Windows 2000 Pro. It has so far saved me from going over there constantly in fixing it, Windows ME has to be the worse OS ever made.

I'm With easg, Hi Ho, and Strider. I've used ME in the past, and it's a disaster. Get 2000 without a doubt.
