This eats my shorts. I use TS at all my offices to connect to our data server. When I try to connect now it throws an error that says, "The connection was ended because of a network error. Please try to connectinfg to the remote computer again." or it says, "The remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the licensing protocol. Please try connecting to the remote computer again or contact your netwrok administrator." Beats me, does anyone have aclue to what this is? Any help would be appreciated since I am new.

Have you rebooted the server in a while?
Someone needs to check the event viewer on the server. |

The default mode for terminal services is Remote Administration. The is no license on this but you are limited to 2 users at a time. You can change TS to application server mode. This requires that you buy TS licenses with a minimum of 5. If you don't within 90 days you will be cutoff.
So which mode are you running in?

I am in application mode, I didn't know that the licsenceing was only temporary, just thought that it comes bundled with server 2000.

Win 2K Pro and XP have the ability to connect to a 2000 TS without additional licensing, other OS'es require a license after a 90 day grace period.
Under 2003 TS all OS'es require a license. |
